Where Are Our Farms?

Over years certain regions and climates in Australia have lead to the development of strong pockets of growers.

The Sunshine Coast in Queensland, the Yarra Valley of Victoria the Adelaide Hills in South Australia and Wanneroo and Albany in Western Australia. New South Wales and Tasmania as well as some other areas of Australia small numbers of quality focused growers producing great fruit.

As growers in each region we are looking to work with nature to produce the best possible strawberries and we will sometimes trial new climates and regions in the hope of commercial benefit.

Each region has its own season.

Each region has its unique environment that gives it a special time slot for supply as seen in this chart.

Queensland has a predominantly dry winter with warm days and cool starry nights. Strawberries thrive in this climate and with the variation between the maximum and minimum daily temperatures produce berries with great flavour from late May to October.

WA growers farm with a typically Mediterranean type climate. Their predominately sandy soils produce quantities of quality strawberries from later July to December

Victoria has 90% of its production in the Yarra Valley 40km north east of Melbourne. Just over 100 growers farm this region with production from October to early May

South Australia's Adelaide Hills with a mild spring, warm summer days and cool nights encourage great tasting strawberries from October to mid May

Tasmania's mild summer produces beautiful berries from November to February with the majority being consumed within the Island state

NSW production may only be a small part of the Australian supply but our growers supply quality fruit mainly to our local Sydney residents from November to February
