Transport to Market

We despatch our packed fruit off farms at the end of everyday in refrigerated trucks. As strawberries are very perishable transport companies drive through the night to deliver the fresh strawberries to each of the capital cities as quickly and legally as possible. Some fruit goes to the market trading floor for sale to fruit shops by wholesalers and some pallets go straight to supermarket Distribution Centres for direct despatch to their stores. Woolworths works closely with growers to select a large percentage of their strawberries direct from farms so they can get it to stores as fresh and quickly as possible.
Strawberries do have a rather short shelf life so growers want to pick them as ripe as possible for the best flavour and get them to stores so you can buy them within a few days of harvest.
