Selection and Packing

Our strawberry packers sit at benches packing the cooled strawberries into punnets ready for market. Each berry is assessed and fruit not good enough for market is packed into a lesser grade or thrown away.

Punnets are then packed into trays stacked on pallets and placed back into the coolroom to make sure the temperature stays below 4°C – it has been stated that every hour after packing the fruit is above 10°C takes 1 day off the shelf life of a strawberry (always remember this when you bu and take your strawberries home).
